Counter Strike: Room 4

Lay out a large room with an archway against the wall opposite the entrance (this is of course the gate to the dragon’s hoard). Ensure that a portion of one wall can't be seen by the players, unknown to them, a second entrance faces the archway. Guarding the archway are a trio of octopi, and they look to be spoiling for a fight.

The octopi will generally be content to stand back and fire crossbows and throw daggers. If the characters are too good at ranged attack or have reverse missile capability, they will of course move to melee.

Fiettas will attempt to get through the gate as quickly as possible. If the characters are sufficiently suspicious by now, they will block him (think rope ability or something similar).

After the first round, Hach’s team will arrive via the 2nd passage and join the fray as a 3rd party. Hach will be enraged to find Fiettas there, having assumed he would be injured or dead and thus no longer in the running. While both Fiettas' and Hach's parties are natural allies against the octopi, they are more enemies of a common enemy.

Both Fiettas and Hach know the password to the gate ("Finnigin!" - and insist the players say it out loud each time their characters traverse the gate, as it gets sillier the later the game runs). Neither will be particularly enthusiastic to share it, though if defeated or in danger of death they will trade it for life or dragon hoard.

Both have the double-phoenix ring, of course.

If the adventurers mention Hack's "lost girlfriend" Kelneys, he’ll be puzzled and finally say, “But Kelneys is my wolf!"

The adventurers may return to the stone beetle room, or (if they know the password) pass through the gate.
